What is One of Best Ways to Maximize Your Peak Performance?

Scheduling your training around your basketball season will build your peak performance when it comes game time. Your training layout should start with your preparation phase followed by your precompetitive phase, then your competitive phase and ending in your active rest phase.

Preparation Phase
You will develop a solid foundation of your fitness and strength.

Precompetitive Phase
You will begin training for power and focus on activities that basketball demands. Your intensity will increase and your conditioning will have more drills that provide, change of direction, acceleration and deceleration, and jumping.

Competitive Phase
You will maintain your conditioning and strength levels, keeping your workouts high intense and training for the demands of basketball.

Active Rest Phase
You will take mental and physical break and take time to cross train. You will also start focusing on low intense workouts. You should also take 1-4 weeks to rest.

At this time you are in your Precompetitive Phase, practice is right around the corner, so it’s important to start training for the demands of the game.
